EXTENDED CALLS IN 2022
Happy 2022! Make the MOST of the new year (no, we are not tired of this joke yet) and apply to the MOST Music programme! Let’s see what exactly we are offering and who is eligible!
Currently we have open calls for the Management Training and the Festival & Club Exchange programmes.
Management Training for young music industry workers
The Management Training programme is for young world music professionals from 9 regions of the Balkans.*
What does that mean? We are looking for those of you who manage bands, book shows and concerts, travel to festivals, love music and want to be the part of the industry. It is no problem if you are not doing management full time, as long as you are committed to the path and to world music. Anyone under 35 with a nationality in the 9 target regions is eligible. Apply now!
If you are selected, you can expect funding, professional training by the best in world music, mentoring, and internship or job shadowing opportunities at prestigious European institutions such as Piranha Arts (WOMEX), Songlines magazine, the European Music Council, or Hangvető.
Festival & Club Exchange for music hubs with world music performers
The Festival & Club Exchange call is a tandem programme for festivals and clubs that provides funding for mutual visits and artist exchange. Clubs and festivals from any member states of the Creative Europe programme are eligible to apply – no need to be headquartered in the Balkan region.
In this programme 20 participants will be selected from the applications – 10 from Western or Central Europe and 10 from the Balkans. The selected participants will then be paired up, and these pairs will then receive funding for mutual visits and artist exchange. The process will be supported by a mentor, a veteran in the world music industry.
Opportunities for musicians
Are you a musician, do you play in a band? Although application for the Balkan Music Export programme (the MOST programme that supports Balkan world musicians) was closed in December, we strongly encourage you to consider applying to the Management Training or Festival & Club Exchange pillars! You can apply to these programmes even if you have applied to or participated in different MOST programmes already. We know exactly that playing music professionally and managing yourself or curating festival or club line-ups often go hand-in-hand. So make the most of this opportunity!
* The 9 target Balkan regions are: Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo**.
**Kosovo is eligible to participate in the Creative Europe Programme. This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244/1999 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
