After years without a proper live event, Budapest Ritmo is finally back to its original form: held between 7-10 April, the festival of discoveries brings the best of world music to the Hungarian capital. Two of the performers are supported by MOST: Rođenice, an all-female a cappella trio, named after three Serbian mythological goddesses who determine the fate of newborn children and Divanhana, who mix heartbreaking sevdah with pop and jazzy elements. We were also able to bring Damir Imamovic, the king of sevdah to Budapest – if you are a fan of Balkan sounds, we highly recommend seeing him in concert!
Our team also organised a networking event for the participants of MOST Round two: festival organisers, club managers and various industry professionals from all over the Balkan will have a whole afternoon to meet and catch up! If you are interested, you are also welcome to check out our conference programme: panels will be held in English and the main theme is the connection of music & film: you can learn more about distribution, music placement in advertisements, plus European Cultural Capital strategies.
